Ethical Guidelines for Insurance Professionals

Starting in 2011, completing the free online Ethical Guidelines for Insurance Professionals will be a requirement of all associate designation programs.

Note: If you are considering pursuing the CPCU designation now or in the future, we recommend that you take Ethics and the CPCU Code of Professional Conduct (Ethics 312), which will also satisfy the ethics requirement for all other Institutes designations.

Ethical behavior is crucial to preserving not only the trust on which insurance transactions are based, but also the public’s trust in our industry as a whole. The Ethical Guidelines for Insurance Professionals learning module was designed specifically for insurance practitioners and uses insurance-based case studies to outline an ethical framework. This unique learning module can be completed in just a matter of hours.

Continuing education (CE) credit for passing the online exam included with this learning module is now available in most states. An electronic affidavit is provided with the CE version, according to each state’s requirements. To receive CE credits, pay a $5 administrative fee when you register.
